Marston Montgomery has benefitted from a brand new village hall, and were looking for a website to support and promote the new facility. Key requirements were an integration with an external facility booking system, a simple contact form, and an easy to admin and update platform. In addition to the website design and build, a full copywriting, photography and social media set up were needed.

The future of the website
Just as the new village hall is a hub for the community to meet at, the website must be a hub of community information. A number of key areas on the site will require frequent updates by the committee, so it was important to factor ease of site management in especially for these areas of the website.
Events, community groups and activities are all editable through simple table or input forms, so the committee can quickly and easily make updates without the need for lengthy training or advanced IT skills.
The choice of platform, in this case WIX, was also important in ensuring that editing the site was easy, and that future security updates or patches weren’t going to affect the site.
Accessibility
Accessibility and inclusivity were key requirements for all user groups, so Effortless Websites created a simple and effective website that is designed to be very easy to operate by all age groups whether using a computer, tablet or phone. The navigation is laid out in a one-click format, so all information and contact points are easily accessible from the home page. All elements of the site are static to avoid any confusion when scrolling, and a clear font was selected for easy reading.
The customer journey
As a multi-purpose community facility there were a large number of different audiences to take into account when designing the website: the site had to cater for everything from community activities to children’s parties, and weddings through to corporate bookings.
One of the first phases of the consultancy was to create customer profiles for each of the main user groups, and walk through their journey on the website, to ensure the specific information they were looking for was easy to access.
